More on Starbucks.

Again, from the INeedCoffee.com newsletter. Only this piece is short and interesting and not likely to piss anyone off. I pass up allegedly-organic sludge for good coffee from Starbucks at the university everytime I need a fix. Let [s]he who likes not a nice cafe' au lait made with Verona throw the first non-corporate coffee stone. If [s]he can find one anywhere.

Killer article, and how true, how true. When I worked at the Mt. Washington Whole Foods, which was a rather hectic and high stress job, I'd always escape to the Starbucks across the lot. Most of my co-workers did too, even the non coffee drinkers. The place is just mellow, even when there's a crowd, and lordy- who could turn down a good cup of Sumatra?!?!

Hey, my wife worked at that Starbucks there for a bit during the summer of 2000!
How tiny the Baltimore world is:)

Get out, that's when I was working at Whole Foods. I can't believe I didn't pick up on that, I went to high school with your wife, I should be able to recognize her.

I was never able to use the place as a study lounge in law school, and, other than the fact that an iced latte is a great hangover killer, never thought their coffee was worth the faux solace. Now and then I go there, but only when no other alternatives present themselves (which, sadly, is often).
