All hail Fergy!

Good news for fans of "The Late Late Show." Today, CBS has announced that Scottish comedian Craig Ferguson will be the permanent replacement for Craig Kilborn. While I was sad to see Craigers go, Ferguson was definitely my favorite guest host of the four finalists. He starts his 12:35 a.m. ET tenure on January 3rd.

All talk shows are a big waste of time anyways. They exploit people and make life into one big joke, putting up a shield of false reality. Oprah has to be the biggest bunch of lies ever. She makes more money a show than 50% of americans will make in two years (if they don't spend a cent).

I don't think talk shows are supposed to be anything but a waste of time. I don't watch "The Late Late Show" for its philosophical rigor or because I think it's news or anything like that -- only to relax and laugh before bed. I can't sleep if I work too late at night.

Oprah's show is another story. The worst thing about her crap is that she cloaks all of her bullshit as being about your "spirit" and your "brain" -- just because she got a bunch of people to read a few times. I am not fond of Oprah.

yeah that is true, they are there for entertainment value. I'm just bitter :)

Don't be bitter:)

Ahh, you are right indeed, as an amateur philosopher and non-existentialist i must be optimistic, and open to new things.

I only think of such a thing as an "amateur philosopher" if I think of philosophy as a profession, which I don't, despite being in my eighth year of training to be one. Er, something like that. I'm not fond of admitting that Mr. Husserl is right about much, but he is right about the vocational character of philosophy, to be sure.

Optimism might be as over-rated as pessimism, but being bitter might not be a good stance to take on the world.

My preferred stance: over-caffeinated and with my ADD -- that way, I can take it all in at once, without pesky comprehension getting in the way.

That's true. You can approach that many ways. What makes a thinker, a 'professional' or 'great' thinker. He who thinks at his own level, is in one sense the greatest thinker there is.
